UDS Warehousing

UDS Warehousing, part of the UDS Group, traces back to 1972 when it began as Ulster Distribution. It has grown from a family-run business into a significant player in the logistics industry.

The core of the business is complete supply chain solutions, focused on storing full and part pallets for short or long periods. More recently they have added services aimed at the growing ecommerce market.

UDS had never run a warehouse management system. Choosing their first one meant getting it right without the benefit of having got it wrong before.

They needed something that could handle full pallet storage efficiently and, at the same time, connect cleanly to ecommerce platforms like Shopify, Amazon and Etsy — two very different jobs from one system.

They also wanted a provider with support close by, so problems could be dealt with quickly rather than queued in a ticketing system in another time zone.

UDS chose Canary7 for the cloud platform, the ecommerce integrations and the local support team. Implementation went smoothly with help from the Canary7 team.

Since adopting it, UDS have seen real gains in efficiency and accuracy. Real-time inventory tracking and a straightforward interface mean orders are picked and packed faster and with fewer errors.

Integration with their other systems, including transportation and accounting software, has set them up for what comes next rather than solving only what was in front of them.
