From Paper Pick Sheets To Full Batch Traceability
iMed Healthcare ran a manual, paper-based warehouse. Canary7 made it electronic — barcode-driven picking, batch tracking on every line, and enough of an efficiency gain to retire the Saturday shift.

About iMed Healthcare
iMed Healthcare is a pharmaceutical distributor — an operation where batch tracking is a clinical and regulatory necessity rather than a nice-to-have. Its warehouse handles sharp demand peaks: a late-afternoon rush can bring two to three hundred orders in at once, with every line needing to be picked accurately and traced from receipt to despatch.
The Challenge
Before Canary7, iMed was entirely paper-based — staff printed sales orders and picked and packed from a physical sheet. A lot of time went on locating stock, and the daily peak was chaos: getting every order picked and packed while making sure the stock was actually on the shelf. To stay ahead of the weekend backlog, the team ran a Saturday shift purely to get a head start on Monday.
What Changed
Canary7 made everything electronic. Pickers no longer have to work out where to go — the system directs them, and barcode scanning with product verification gives them confidence the stock is right. Because iMed is a pharmaceutical operation, every movement is batch-tracked and time-stamped: when a batch was picked, how many, who picked it and who packed it. The efficiency gain was enough to drop the Saturday shift altogether, and the team now clears Monday’s order pool without it. Orders feed in from their ERP, Intact iQ, and short picks or damaged lines feed straight back to it without warehouse staff ever leaving Canary7, while despatch and DPD courier labels are produced in Canary7 too.
“Before Canary7 we were very manual-based — now everything’s electronic. It’s made a massive difference to our business and our warehouse operations.”
